Description of Dedicated Servers

When we talk about web hosting servers, there are 3 major types - hosting servers, VPS (virtual web hosting servers) and dedicated servers. Shared web servers accommodate plenty of clients and hence the system resources per user account are restricted, VPS give you more configuration autonomy, but also influence other VPS web servers on the hardware node if utilized unwisely, and dedicated servers give you the autonomy to perform everything you want without intervening with anyone else.

Why would you require a dedicated servers?

Dedicated servers are commonly much more expensive than shared servers or virtual private web hosting servers. Why would anyone, then, use them? The explanation is rather simple. If your firm has a regularly visited site, or just has very explicit web server architecture requirements, the best choice would be a dedicated servers. For someone who is ready to invest in safety and stability, the bigger price is not an issue. You get root-level access and can use 100% of the dedicated server's system resources without anyone else utilizing these system resources and interfering with your online portals.

Hardware configurations

The majority of hosting distributors, including us at eTesLa Technologies PC, provide different hardware architectures you can select from based on your demands. The hardware configurations offer different kinds of microprocessors, a different amount of cores, different RAM and hard drive sizes and different bandwidth allowances. You can pick a hosting Control Panel, which is a convenient user interface if you wish to utilize the dedicated servers for hosting purposes only and prefer not to resort to SSH for all the modifications you will be making. We offer three types of web hosting CP software - Hepsia, DirectAdmin and cPanel.

The hosting Control Panel of your choice

If you are a self-assured Linux user (our hosting servers are powered by Linux or other Unix-based Operating Systems), you could manage your dedicated servers via a Secure Shell console only. That, though, could be awkward, particularly if you wish to grant complete root-level access to someone else who has less technical abilities than yourself. That is why having Control Panel software pre-installed is an intelligent idea. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel graphical user interface that we provide does not offer root privileges and is mostly appropriate for somebody who has many web sites that devour plenty of resources, but prefers to administer the web pages, databases and mailbox accounts via an easy-to-use web hosting CP. The DirectAdmin and cPanel hosting Control Panels, on the other hand, grant root access and include three access levels - root, reseller and user. If you plan to resell web hosting plans instead of using the dedicated servers just for yourself, you should select one of these two.

Web server monitoring and backup services

Last but not least, there is the issue of monitoring the dedicated servers and of backing it up. In the event of a predicament with your web server, like a non-responsive Apache or an outage, it is desirable to have some kind of monitoring platform enabled. Here at eTesLa Technologies PC the system administrators monitor all dedicated servers for ping timeouts, and, if you order a Managed Services upgrade, they monitor the separate services on the dedicated servers as well. Backups are also a bonus option - the web hosting supplier offers you data backups on our own backup servers. You could choose a type of RAID that would allow you to save the very same data on two server hard disk drives as a protective measure in the event of a hard disk drive failure, or in case someone whom you have ranted root access erases something accidentally.
